What do I bring to my senior photoshoot?
You should bring several changes of clothes. Most people have between three and six outfits, but you can have as many changes as you need.
Bring accessories, like jewelry, jackets, purses, glasses, hats, sunglasses, watches, etc. because we will be able to use them for some cool shots!
Also bring your letterman jacket and class ring if you have them, or other school items.
We provide professional photography makeup for all sessions, and professional photography hairstyling for the complete senior experience.
Be sure to remember shoes for each outfit! Girls’ shoes with heels will make your calves look stunning. Boots look great on guys and girls.
Musical instruments, sporting equipment, cars, and other props will be nice items to bring as well.
Who do I bring to my photoshoot?
You should bring at least one parent or guardian with you to your session due to liability issues.
If your senior session includes a bonus family session, your family may stay the entire time, or only for that portion.
Bring people who will make you feel comfortable and happy!
What is the senior photoshoot process like?
First, you need call or email Jody Rael to schedule an appointment for a senior consultation meeting. At this first meeting, we will discuss what you are looking for in your senior portraits, locations, ideas, clothing options, and senior products. At the consultation, we choose a session type and set a date for the portrait session.
Second, we have the creative photo session. If you want portraits in the studio, we will start there; if you have a location in mind, we will usually schedule that for the late afternoon/early evening, when the lighting is the best.
Third, about 14 days after the creative photo session and Jody has processed and edited your photos, you and your parents will come in for an ordering meeting. At this time you will pick out your wall artwork, your senior announcements, invitations, senior book or album, and your smaller prints. We will also pick your yearbook photo and the PDA photos!
Fourth, Jody edits and designs all of the items in your order. We will meet to confirm all of your printed materials, like the announcements, invitations, senior book, etc. We can also discuss framing options or specifics for the wall portraits at this meeting.
Fifth, Jody will notify you when your order is ready and you can come by and pick up your graduation picture items!
Also, in the weeks before your graduation ceremony, Jody will offer times for you to come in for a complimentary cap and gown photo session.
Can I have pictures in uniform, on the field/court/studio?
Yes! I love to do creative and dramatic photography on location. I want to photograph YOU. If you are a football player, baseball player, track star, ballerina, cheerleader, ice skater, etc. I want to capture you in your activity and in your realistic clothes and environment! Let’s get creative together and find something that works for both of us!
Can I use my senior portraits in the yearbook/PDA section?
Yes! I can upload the photos from your session to your Josten’s account so that you can create your page. Additionally, as a service to my seniors, I help parents scan non-digital files so that they are the correct resolution.
Jody works closely with Mrs. Elliott, the yearbook advisor at Faith Lutheran, so that she receives the pictures by the yearbook deadline.
Can seniors get portraits done by any photographer?
At Faith Lutheran, seniors can get their portraits for the yearbook done by the photographer of their choice. The photos need to be submitted to the yearbook advisor by the deadline.
Where can I have my photos taken?
Anywhere!! I have done senior pictures in Kansas, San Diego, Mt. Charleston, Red Rock, Valley of Fire, Red Springs, Corn Creek, and other places around Las Vegas. You tell me where you’d like to go and we’ll go there! If you’d like an urban-feel to your portraits, we can find something for you. If you’d rather have greenery and trees, Jody knows of a few spots near Las Vegas that will work.
My studio is located at Smoke Ranch and Tenaya, in the Ackerman Professional Plaza, on the east side of the building. We are open by appointment only, so be sure to give me a call or email if you want to stop by! The address is 2402 N. Tenaya Way, Las Vegas, NV 89128.
Can I buy or have digital files?
Any of the images that you purchase or use in products are available as a digital 5×7. Most of the time, these digital files will contain a small watermark, but I will also provide a print release, which allows you to reprint up to a 5×7 print.
If you post your image on social media, please be courteous and tag me in the comments. Most cases, @jodyrael and #JodyRaelSEEN will work wonderful.
